Kingdom hope growing through faithful obedience

Join us as we look back over the week on 115.1. Across West Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Latin America, disciple makers continue to live out the Gospel through simple obedience, courageous witness and practical love for their communities. These stories remind us that God continues to multiply faith through ordinary believers who pray, serve and make disciples in every circumstance.

Rejoice

Let’s praise God with local leaders in West Africa whose hope was to support, sustain and empower their local communities. On land that once appeared barren, crops of okra, melons, peppers and yams produced harvests two and three times greater than expected. The profits were used to support a brother who had been forced from his home, provide food for refugees, pay for a young woman’s eye treatment and help three young people attend university. We see the marks of holistic disciple making and local ownership, as believers use what God providea to bless and strengthen their own communities.

We also rejoice that 94 people gathered from cities across northern Jordan to learn how to move from being disciples to becoming disciple makers. Despite different traditions and backgrounds, the gathering was marked by prayer, fellowship and encouragement. Please pray that participants return home ready to put into practice what they have learned. We trust this learning promotes obedience-based discipleship, where learning is expected to lead to action and multiplication.

Give thanks

Give thanks for Cuban disciple makers who have found a place where believers can gather together for celebration and encouragement. Their first gathering included a communal meal shared with the wider community. Despite the ongoing pressures caused by fuel shortages and economic hardship, believers continue serving neighbors with food and water while remaining committed to making disciples. Their example shows perseverance under pressure and the empowerment of ordinary believers to continue ministering faithfully in difficult conditions.

Celebrating the new church building in Cuba this week.

We also thank God for continued fruit in Thailand. Three young people received Jesus when a discipe maker visited mountain communities this week. At the Family Center, the team continues investing intentionally in young people through relationships, prayer and Bible study. Two young men were baptized after first connecting through basketball before growing in faith alongside other young believers. Another young man also gave his life to Jesus after studying the Bible with the team. These stories reflect movement through relationships and the simplicity of discipleship centred on prayer and Scripture.

Intercede

Please pray for our family in Laos as pressure continues to increase for them. Many villagers have started following Jesus, leading local authorities to watch leaders more closely. Village chiefs are also pressuring new believers to remain silent about their faith, while cults are actively targeting them. Pray for wisdom, courage and protection for leaders and new disciples alike. Ask God to strengthen them as they continue making disciples in challenging circumstances.

Pray also for a faithful Somali refugee in Uganda who has been trained in disciple-making principles and is faithfully sharing with Somali women both face to face and online. She recently baptized several believers in Somalia and continues ministering among Somali communities in internally displaced persons camps. Pray for endurance, wisdom and open hearts among those she serves. Her ministry demonstrates the importance of empowering ordinary believers to lead and multiply disciples within their own communities.

Persevere in prayer

Please continue praying for a couple in Ecuador who are gathering new believers in their home and helping them understand the foundations of discipleship and church identity. They continue stepping forward in faith despite resistance from surrounding traditional church expectations. Pray for boldness and faithfulness as new believers prepare for baptism, and for continued wisdom as this couple disciples and shepherds emerging fellowships. Their perseverance reflects the steady work of multiplication through simple, reproducible discipleship.

Closing reflection

This week’s stories remind us that God’s kingdom often grows through quiet faithfulness — believers planting crops, opening homes, gathering communities, studying Scripture and praying together. Across many nations, ordinary disciples are becoming disciple makers who strengthen others through obedience, perseverance and love in action. May these reports continue to inspire prayer, faithful obedience and multiplying movements among God’s people worldwide.
