Faithful witness in hardship and hope

Join us as we reflect on stories shared by disciple makers serving across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. From encouragement and training in Japan to gospel outreach in remote regions of Brazil and Kenya, we see believers continuing to share Jesus through relationships, prayer, and perseverance. These reports remind us that God is at work through ordinary disciples who faithfully live out and multiply simple expressions of church and mission.

Rejoice

We rejoice that an American disciple-making family is spending the next five weeks in Japan alongside local disciple makers, helping them identify people of peace and share the gospel in their communities. Pray for open hearts, safety, and fruitful conversations as they encourage and strengthen local believers. Their commitment demonstrates movement through relationships, as disciples invest personally in others and help equip them for local mission.

We also praise God for the miraculous healing of a brother in India whose kidneys were failing and for whom doctors had given up hope. After placing his trust in Jesus, he experienced complete healing. Pray that many in his community will come to know Jesus through witnessing what God has done in his life. His testimony highlights prayer as first work and the power of faith expressed through dependence on God.

Give thanks

Give thanks for Craig, a disciple maker in the East Midlands of the United Kingdom, faithfully gathering young men each week who are facing struggles in their lives. Pray for wisdom as he responds to the needs within the group and helps others grow in faith and maturity. His ministry reflects holistic disciple making, caring for spiritual, emotional, and relational needs while encouraging multiplication through consistent investment in others.

We are also thankful for ongoing work among the deaf community in the United States. Two disciple makers recently connected with two deaf young men carrying significant trauma from their past. One of the disciple makers unexpectedly discovered that he had attended school years ago with one of the young men, creating an immediate bond. Pray that these relationships would lead both young men to trust Jesus and experience healing. This story demonstrates the importance of movement through relationships and how God often uses existing connections to open doors for discipleship.

Intercede

Give thanks for the continued impact of The Jesus Film and the opportunities it creates for gospel outreach in West Bengal, India. Disciple makers there regularly use it to share the message of Jesus with local communities. Sadly in recent months, opposition and persecution are increasing. Please pray for protection, courage, and wisdom for believers as they continue sharing faithfully. Their reflects perseverance under persecution as disciples continue the work despite growing pressure.

Please also invest in prayer for the 11 groups meeting in rural Kenya, where much of the current activity focuses on 3/3rds Bible study groups. Participants are learning to discover Scripture for themselves and hold one another accountable to obeying God’s Word. Pray for faithfulness and for many more groups to form and multiply. This is a strong example of discovery learning and obedience-based discipleship working together to build reproducible communities of faith.

Persevere in prayer

Please continue praying for more than a dozen disciple-making families and their leaders in Nepal whose homes were demolished by the municipality this week, leaving them without shelter. Pray for protection, provision, and practical support during this crisis. Ask God to sustain their faith and strengthen their witness even in hardship. Their perseverance demonstrates courageous faith under pressure and deep commitment to the gospel.

All that’s left of our friends’ houses.

Pray also for the team travelling along the Purus River in the Brazilian Amazon by boat to visit remote communities and share the good news of Jesus. They are seeking people and families of peace in areas that can only be reached a few times each year. Pray for wisdom as they identify key households, and for those receiving audio Bibles and hearing about Jesus for the first time. This ministry is rooted in simplicity and local ownership, as disciple makers bring accessible and reproducible tools into isolated communities.

Closing reflection

This week’s stories remind us that God continues to work through faithful disciples who pray, persevere, and invest deeply in relationships. Whether in crowded cities, remote villages, or overlooked communities, the gospel is being shared through simple acts of obedience and compassionate witness.
