New disciples rising across nations

Join us as we look back over the week on 115.1. Reports from Africa, Europe, Latin America, and beyond remind us that God continues to draw people to Himself and raise up new disciple makers. As these stories are shared, they encourage prayer, faithful obedience, and the steady multiplication of disciples.

Rejoice

We rejoice with brothers and sisters in Ghana, where nearly 300 people have begun following Jesus and have been baptized over the past few months. Pray that these new believers will quickly grow as disciples who make disciples, sharing what they have received with others. This reflects the principle of multiplication, where new followers of Jesus are encouraged to pass on their faith.

We also rejoice at the unexpected ways God draws people to Himself. In Latin America, a construction worker who had been drinking wandered into a home church gathering. There he encountered believers ready to share God’s love and forgiveness. Deeply moved, he chose to follow Jesus. Pray that his life will be transformed as he begins a journey of obedience-based discipleship, learning to follow and obey the One who came “to seek and save the lost.”

Give thanks

Give thanks for young believers in Germany who are taking the lead in reaching others of their own age after receiving disciple-making training a year ago. They are now actively sharing their faith and discipling peers, demonstrating local ownership as the next generation embraces responsibility for the mission.

We also give thanks for a group travelling through the Brazilian jungle, carrying supplies on their backs as they seek to share the name of Jesus with people who have never heard the Gospel. Their willingness to go to difficult places reflects movement through relationships, as they pursue opportunities to meet people of peace in remote communities.

Intercede

Pray for places across the world experiencing unrest, including regions of the Middle East, the state of Jalisco in Mexico, and other areas facing instability. Ask that disciple makers would be guided by the Spirit to share God’s peace and hope with neighbours and communities in the midst of uncertainty.

Persevere in prayer

Please continue to pray for a young house church in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Newly baptized disciples are gathering regularly using the 3/3rds discovery Bible study approach. Pray that as they learn from Scripture they will take practical steps of obedience. This reflects discovery learning, where disciples listen to God’s Word together and act on what they discover.

Also keep praying for a man in Belize whom two disciple makers met after a long and difficult trek in search of people of peace. He kindly welcomed them into his home, and they hope to return soon. Pray that his heart will remain open and that future conversations will lead him deeper in exploring the message of Jesus.

Closing reflection

These stories remind us that God continues to work through ordinary believers who pray, go, and share. From baptisms in West Africa to small gatherings in homes and remote villages, disciples are being raised up who will in turn reach others.
