New beginnings in hard places

Join us as we look back over the week. Stories come from frontier regions, global cities, and hidden communities, showing how God is drawing people to Himself through simple obedience and faithful witness. As we share these reports, they invite prayer and fuel ongoing disciple-making efforts around the world.

Rejoice

We rejoice that God is at work in the most remote places. In Shan State, Myanmar, 15 people began following Jesus after outreach among frontier communities. This marks a significant step forward, and it reflects the power of obedience-based discipleship as people respond to the Gospel and begin new lives of following Him. Pray they are discipled well and grow into disciple makers themselves.

We also rejoice in new areas opening to disciple-making vision. In Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 40 church leaders engaged in training for the first time. As they return to their contexts, there is opportunity for multiplication as they put into practice what they have learned and pass it on to others through their own disciples.

Give thanks

Give thanks for a deaf couple and their interpreter from the United States travelling to serve at a conference in Türkiye. Their encouragement strengthens others, particularly among deaf communities in Central Asia, where an underground church is growing. This reflects how empowering ordinary believers leads to the spread of the Gospel in often overlooked communities.

We also give thanks for discipleship training in New Hampshire, USA. Several participants have already begun applying what they have learned. This demonstrates the importance of obedience-based discipleship, as truth is not only heard but practiced, leading to integration within a wider disciple-making movement in the region.

Intercede

Pray for children in the red-light district of Kolkata who attend school at night while their mothers work. Ask that as they learn to read and write, they would also come to know Jesus, and that their lives would be shaped by holistic disciple making that addresses both spiritual and practical needs.

Pray for those facing danger in the Sierra Nevada region of Colombia. Many are experiencing violence, separation from family, and deep uncertainty. Pray for protection, peace, and perseverance, and that believers there would remain steadfast in faith and witness.

Persevere in prayer

Continue to pray for the growing disciple-making work in Germany. A brother is faithfully sharing vision and training others across the country. Ask for wisdom in where to focus next and for others to be raised up to share the work. This reflects the need for multiplication and shared leadership so that the movement can continue to grow sustainably.

Closing reflection

This week’s stories reveal a consistent pattern: God is at work through ordinary people who choose to obey, often in difficult or overlooked places. Through 115.1, these accounts are shared securely, strengthening a global community committed to prayer, obedience, and multiplication. As disciples continue to respond in faith, new beginnings emerge and movements take root.
