Faith in action across nations
Join us as we look back over the week. Be inspired by stories shared by a worldwide network of disciple makers. This week’s reports come from Nepal, the Philippines, India, Colombia, Japan, and Honduras, showing how obedience, prayer, and empowerment continue to bear fruit in disciple-making movements.
Rejoice
We rejoice that 18 people were baptized in various regions of Nepal this week, many after watching The Jesus Film. These new believers are beginning to grow in their faith and are learning to become disciples who make disciples – a clear example of obedience-based discipleship in action.
Give thanks
Give thanks for a recent trip to Davao in the Philippines where 35 leaders from seven tribal groups were trained to multiply the house churches they had already started. Their immediate obedience during the training shows how empowering local believers can lead to rapid fruitfulness. May this be the case as they return home to mobilize their own communities.
We are also thankful for the female-led ministry outside Kolkata, India. Women there are praying for other women with sensitivity and courage, demonstrating holistic disciple making. Pray that many would be healed, come to follow Jesus, and in turn make disciples themselves.
Intercede
Pray for a disciple maker traversing the western Colombian jungle, where travel can be dangerous. Ask for God’s protection as he trains and gathers people in simple, reproducible ways. Pray for his wife and young child as well. It’s a huge blessing they can serve people in their own communities in a way outsiders can’t, exemplifying movement through relationships.
The disciple maker in question travels by motor bike.
Persevere in prayer
Please continue to pray for a team of disciple makers in Tokyo. Their introductory social media campaign was temporarily blocked, making it difficult to find people of peace on the ground. Pray that new relationships and fruitful ministry opportunities emerge.
Pray as well for a prison chaplain in Honduras, trained in 2018, who works with the Military Police Special Forces and educational centers impacting over 14,000 young people weekly. Pray that many hear God’s voice and choose to follow Him, equipping them to make disciples.
Closing reflection
This week’s stories highlight God’s work across cultures and contexts. From baptisms in Nepal to leadership training in the Philippines, and ministries in India, Colombia, Japan, and Honduras, we see disciples praying, obeying, and going.
