The gospel reaching every heart and place
Join us as we look back over the past week on 115.1. Stories from Europe, Latin America, and Asia reveal how God’s love is reaching into difficult places – from hospitals to remote regions – through ordinary disciples. As we share these accounts, they invite us to pray and to step forward in obedience as disciple makers.
Rejoice
In Germany, two former addicts – now active disciple makers – visited a friend in a psychiatric hospital. They shared the hope of Jesus not only with him but also with others in the hospital. This reflects the transforming power of obedience-based discipleship, as changed lives become a testimony that leads others toward Christ.
We also rejoice in Maicao, Colombia, where four sisters and two brothers from a house church were baptized, publicly committing to follow Jesus. Their leader is currently being trained in disciple making, demonstrating multiplication as new believers are both discipled and prepared to disciple others.
A post-baptism line up!
Give thanks
Give thanks for a man in the Philippines who, after recent training, is already applying what he learned in a remote mountainous region. His immediate obedience shows how simplicity and obedience-based discipleship enable the gospel to spread in hard-to-reach places.
We also thank God for a gathering of disciple makers in New York, where participants were immersed in a holistic understanding of making disciples who make disciples. This reflects the importance of holistic disciple making, equipping believers to live out and reproduce their faith in every area of life.
Intercede
Pray for a Wayuu disciple-making group in Colombia facing pressure from authorities to gather in a single, centralised setting. This restriction limits the formation of new house groups. Ask for wisdom and resolution so that movement through relationships can continue unhindered.
Persevere in prayer
Continue to pray for the “Word of Peace,” a boat used in Brazil to reach isolated communities. After vandalism caused it to sink, there is an urgent need for restoration. Pray for provision of skilled help and resources, and for perseverance among those serving – a clear call to perseverance under persecution as they continue reaching the unreached.
Closing reflection
This week’s stories remind us that no place and no person is beyond the reach of God’s love. Through simple obedience, faithful witness, and perseverance, disciples are carrying the gospel into overlooked spaces.
