From saunas to villages – the Gospel advances
Join us as we look back over the week on 115.1. Stories shared from Europe, North America, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and South America remind us that God is at work in everyday places and in difficult regions alike. Through sharing on 115.1, we see how simple obedience, courageous perseverance, and faithful prayer continue to bear fruit.
Rejoice
We rejoice with disciple makers in Copenhagen, Denmark, who recently baptized a Lithuanian man after someone met him in a sauna at a fitness center and shared Jesus with him. Since coming to faith, he has already led another person to the Lord – someone he also met in the same sauna. This is a clear expression of movement through relationships and multiplication. Ordinary spaces became places of witness, and a new believer immediately began obeying Jesus by sharing with others.
Give thanks
Give thanks that two brothers were able to travel to Cincinnati in the United States to gather and train a group of people, mainly from Central Asia. Their time together focused on forming a healthy church community that can continue in their home context. This reflects empowerment of ordinary believers and local ownership – equipping people to lead and multiply where they live.
We also thank God for the Women of the Word groups in Punjab, India. These women regularly visit others in their homes, share Scripture, and pray together. As a result, more women are choosing to follow Jesus. Their simple, reproducible approach shows the strength of obedience-based discipleship and movement through relationships, as the gospel spreads naturally through households and trusted connections.
Intercede
Please pray for our brother and his team returning to the same dark area of the Amazon where last year they were under much attack, and the boat in which they were travelling sank. This year there have again been problems with their boat, but they are not deterred. Pray for protection, endurance, and open hearts. They are convinced that their mission is sustained through prayer as first work.
Pray also for the Thai team invited into the Juvenile Detention Center in Chiang Mai. This first visit carries both opportunity and responsibility. Ask that trust would be built and that this could mark the beginning of a disciple-making movement among young people in this setting.
Persevere in prayer
In Rakhine State, Myanmar, five new believers were baptized. We thank God for their courage in a region deeply affected by conflict and political unrest. Pray that they will grow in faith, learn to share their story and God’s story clearly, and remain steadfast. Pray for all believers in Rakhine – that perseverance under persecution will strengthen, rather than hinder, the spread of the Gospel.
Courageous believers in Rakhine state, Myanmar
Closing reflection
This week’s stories remind us that God’s kingdom advances in ordinary places – fitness centers, family homes, training gatherings, detention centres, and conflict zones. Through obedience, relational witness, and persevering prayer, disciples continue to multiply.
