What makes a good video?

A good video is simple, clear, and purposeful. Here are a few tips to help.

Keep it short.

Aim for 60 seconds or less. 115.1 supports videos up to 90 seconds. People have short attention spans, so keep it focused and to the point.

Plan before you record

Think about what you want to say or show. If you are speaking to camera, explain things clearly and stay on track.

Film vertically

Vertical (portrait) videos work best in 115.1. Hold your phone upright so the video fills the screen and is easier for others to watch.

Set up your shot

Check what is visible in the frame. A head-and-shoulders shot works best when filming yourself or someone else. Get as close as you can and keep the subject centred.

Have a clear purpose

Know why you are sharing the video. Try to finish with a simple call to action. What would you like people to do next? How can they pray for you or the situation?

Show appropriate emotion

If the situation allows, look like you are enjoying yourself. A natural smile helps. If the situation is serious or unsafe, a smile may not be appropriate.

Uploading with photos

If you are posting photos along with a video, upload the video first. This helps the app display it correctly.
