How do I clear the cache on my desktop?

Sometimes, the 115.1 web app might not load properly, and displays a blank screen or is slow to load. These problems can often be resolved by clearing your web browser’s cache. The following steps explain how to do this on Google Chrome and Safari.

For Google Chrome:

  1. Open your Google Chrome browser.

  2. Click on the three vertical dots on the top right corner of the browser (This opens the browser menu).

  3. Click on “More tools”.

  4. Then click on “Clear browsing data”. This will open a new tab with the browsing data options.

  5. Make sure that “Cached images and files” is checked. You can uncheck other options to keep your browsing history, cookies, etc.

  6. Click on “Clear data”.

For Safari:

  1. Open your Safari browser.

  2. Click on the “Safari” menu at the top left of your screen.

  3. Click on “Preferences” (or “Settings”).

  4. In the preferences window, go to the “Advanced” tab.

  5. Check the box at the bottom that says “Show Develop menu in menu bar”.

  6. Close the preferences window. You should now see a new “Develop” menu in the menu bar.

  7. Click on “Develop”, then click on “Empty Caches” in the middle of the menu.

Why might I need to close my browser after clearing the cache?

Clearing your cache removes temporary files that your browser uses to speed up web browsing. Some of these temporary files might still be in use if your browser is open when you clear your cache. Closing your browser ensures that all temporary files are removed and changes are effectively applied.

How can I close and reopen my browser?

For Google Chrome:

  1. To close Google Chrome, click on the red “x” at the top right corner of the browser, or right click on the Chrome icon in your taskbar and select “Close window”.

  2. To reopen Google Chrome, double-click the Chrome icon on your desktop, or click on the Chrome icon in your taskbar or start menu.

For Safari:

  1. To close Safari, click on the red “x” at the top left corner of the browser, or click on “Safari” in the menu bar and select “Quit Safari”.

  2. To reopen Safari, click on the Safari icon in your dock or Applications folder.

Will I need to sign again?

Yes, you will need to sign into the 115.1 web app again after clearing your cache and closing your browser. Clearing your cache also removes saved login information, so you’ll have to scan the login QR code again when you return to https://web.115one.app. Please make sure you have the mobile app ready for this.
